''My Birthday" -My Testimony Poem from Salvaged pages from the diary of Elisabeth Kaufmann
Today I am 16
Ive never been alone on my own on my birthday before
Ive never had such a sad birthday
Everyone is scattered around and no one is with me
Dad is in camp, along with peter as well
Mother has accepted a job right outside of paris
The grandparents are in Vienna
Every year we celebrated my birthday somewhat
I cooked my own birthday meal
Sitting alone in the kitchen
I am sad
